VentText is a service operated by Lazy Man Ventures LLC ("VentText," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use VentText to send a complaint or message to a participating business, how we use it, and the choices you have. By texting our number or using venttext.com, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Your mobile phone number, so we can route your message to the right business and send replies back to you.
- The content of your messages and any photos you send (for example, a photo of a receipt), so the business can understand and resolve your complaint.
- The business code you provide and basic delivery information (timestamps, delivery status) from our messaging provider.
How we use your information
- To deliver your complaint to the business you identified and relay that business's replies back to you.
- To send you service messages about your conversation, such as acknowledgments, follow-ups, and any resolution or discount code offered by the business.
- To operate, secure, and improve the VentText service.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subprocessors that support our own operations (such as our SMS provider) is permitted solely to deliver the service. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for their marketing.
Who we share it with
We share the content of your complaint (and any photo you attach) with the specific business you are messaging, because relaying it to them is the purpose of the service. We use trusted service providers — including our SMS/telephony provider — to operate VentText; they may process your information only to provide services to us and are bound to protect it. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Message frequency and rates
VentText messages are conversational — you receive replies in response to messages you send. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms for details.
Data retention
We keep conversation records for as long as needed to resolve your complaint and for a reasonable period afterward for support, dispute, and legal purposes, then delete or anonymize them.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from VentText. Reply START to resume.
- Contact us to request access to or deletion of your information, where applicable.
